Why Andalusia, Southern Spain?
Andalusia is one of the 17 autonomous regions in Spain it is situated in the south of Spain 'almost' a stones throw from North Africa. On a clear day Morocco can be seen from it's highest points. Andalusia is rich with history and it's Moorish past comes through in the beautiful architecture.
A region made up of 8 provinces Huelva, Sevilla, Cordoba, Jaen, Cadiz, Malaga, Granada and Almeria. The region is bordered by some of Spain's most iconic coastal areas such as the Costa del sol and Costa de la luz. Andalusia is HUGE. Over 87000km and incredibly diverse. It has everything from the traditional quaint pueblos blanco's like Frigiliana and Ronda, the larger historical inland towns like Antequera and Lucena and some fantastic cities like Malaga, Cordoba and Sevilla.
Andalusia is home to glitzy Marbella and the Puerto Banus often called the playground of the rich and famous, with its glamourous restaurants and designer shops. It's also home to some spectacular scenery, vineyards and olive groves, landmarks like the Caminito del Rey, The Alhambra in Granada and the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada, too many to mention!
Andalusia boasts an equally spectacular climate, one of the warmest places in Spain all year round. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 35 degrees and the winters are mild with day time temperatures rarely below 14 degrees, getting chillier at night.
Properties come in all shapes and sizes, town houses, modern villas, cave houses and rustic cortijo's are really just the start! Prices range from properties for reform in Jaen for less that 20,000 euros to luxury villas selling for several millions euros.
Whether you like enjoying water sports on the many inland lakes, café culture and tasting delicious tapas, beach days or family fun at the many ferias, Andalusia has something you will certainly fall in love with.
